Studio Policies

The following policies apply to all lesson agreements made between Helene Holman (henceforth referred to as the teacher) and the pupils and/or their parents/guardians.

Lesson Options

 

The MAD Membership

A semester lasting 12 teaching weeks, which includes: 

  • 11 x 1:1 (50 minutes) Vocal Coaching/Teaching Lessons

  • Between your sessions, you have access to me via Loom for feedback

  • The opportunity to perform in a student showcase 

  • Lessons will be scheduled at a regular time and day

 

Flex Lessons

  • 4 x 1:1 (50 minutes) lessons to be used at anytime 

  • Lessons expire two - months from date of purchase

Drop in Lessons

  • One-off session (50 minutes) 

Payment

  • All lesson fees are paid for at the time of booking through the online scheduler, Acuity.
     

  • All sales are final. Subscriptions, coaching packages and gift vouchers, or remaining sessions therein, are non-refundable. This does not affect your statutory rights.
     

  • All online payments are automatically processed via Stripe. Your data is encrypted and safe; none of your card or bank details are visible to The M.A.D. House at any point.
     

  • Recovery of any fees owed is subject to UK late payment legislation. 
     

MAD Membership Specific

  • Lesson fees are charged at the beginning of each semester (your initial sign-up date) via the online booking system. 
     

  • Upfront – If paying upfront students will receive a 10% discount off semester fees.
     

  • Monthly - If a student is paying monthly, they understand that they are committed to full payment, in 3 monthly instalments. Each instalment will be taken on the 1st of each month. 
     

  • Should a student wish to begin their MAD Membership mid-semester, then all weeks up to the end of the current calendar month must be paid in advance. After this, the monthly charge will commence as normal on the 1st.

Rescheduling 

  • If you need to reschedule your lesson you can do so up to 48 hours in advance through the online scheduler. Fail to do so will result in you forfeiting that lesson.
     

  • On the rare occasion, the teacher cannot make the agreed-upon lesson time, these lessons will be made up at a later date.​  
     

  • Students who are ill will be turned away from lessons without a refund.
     

  • If you are mildly sick or have no way of getting to a lesson then online lessons are a great alternative. They are a valuable way to keep your individual lesson time and avoid missing out. Online Sessions will be taught via Zoom (Instructions about how to use Zoom will be sent prior to online lesson times).​​

 

What do I need to bring to my sessions?

  • In the case of performance coaching, you only need to bring yourself and something to write on and with. 
     

  • In all other cases: Please bring your own playbacks, sheet music, music books, lyric sheets, tabs/chord sheets etc. whenever possible.
     

  • My studio is sufficiently equipped to plug in or connect your MP3 players/phone,

Communication​

All correspondence is sent out to the student/parent by email. It is the responsibility of the student/parent to make the teacher aware of any changes to their contact details. She will not be held responsible for any missed communications if this is due to incorrect contact information.
